NANCHANG， April 15 (Xinhua) -- Performers from Fuzhou， the hometown of Chinese playwright Tang Xianzu (1550-1616) will tour his work in Britain as part of celebrations to mark the fourth centenary of his death.
Plays adapted from Tang's romantic stories "Peony Pavilion" and "Purple Hairpin" will be staged in Stratford-Upon-Avon， hometown of British playwright William Shakespeare， who died the same year as Tang.
"Peony Pavilion" tells the story of the daughter of a wealthy official and a talented， but poor， scholar， who fell in love in each other's dreams， and against all odds wed each other.
Along with the plays， artists will also perform traditional Chinese dances， including the lion dance.
A delegation from Fuzhou in east China's Jiangxi Province will also go to Alcala de Henares， Spain， hometown of famous writer Miguel de Cervantes who also died the same year. They are there to take part in the celebrations to mark the fourth centenary of the writer's death.
In return， the city government of Fuzhou will welcome British and Spanish artists to Jiangxi in September.
LOS ANGELES， June 1 (Xinhua) -- Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) chief Charlie Beck confirmed the shooting incident that happened Wednesday morning at the campus of the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) is a murder-suicide and the campus is safe.
Charlie Beck said the situation has been contained and the campus is safe. He confirmed two men were dead in the murder-suicide incident and a gun was found at scene.
The shooting happened shortly before 10 a.m. local time in Boelter Hall， which is part of the Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science， according to the university. Shortly， the entire campus was placed on lockdown.
About an hour after the shooting was reported， police confirmed two dead people were found inside a small room of the engineering building. Police confirmed it is a murder-suicide incident and there are no suspects outstanding. But there is no information whether the two confirmed killed men involve students， employees or visitors.
Warner Elementary School， Fairburn Elementary School and Emerson Middle School， which are located near UCLA， have been placed on lockdown due to the shooting， according to the Los Angeles Unified School District.
Police have started to release people who are locked in UCLA buildings.
UCLA officials said that although the campus lockdown has been lifted， all classes are canceled for Wednesday and will resume on Thursday.
